Bellevue University Named Top College for Community College Transfer Students for 7th Year

Transfer Honor Roll award Phi Theta Kappa has named Bellevue University, one of the nation's leaders in preparing students for lifelong career success with career-relevant knowledge and skills, to its prestigious 2023 Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Honor Roll for the seventh straight year.

The Honor Roll recognizes the top four-year colleges and universities nationwide for supporting the success of transfer students.

Bellevue University was one of just two Nebraska institutions recognized on the Honor Roll and one of 208 institutions recognized nationwide.

According to Phi Theta Kappa, colleges were selected based on 40 metrics, including college cost and financial aid, campus life for transfer students, admission practices and bachelor's degree completion. Colleges Transfer Friendliness Rating, which is determined by the online profile the college creates in PTK Connect. PTK Connect is Phi Theta Kappa's online tool that helps students find their best-fit colleges, career pathways and more. The top 25% highest-rated colleges are named to the PTK Transfer Honor Roll.

Dr. Mary Hawkins, Bellevue University President, said Bellevue University's consistent presence on the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Roll exemplifies Bellevue University's commitment to helping motivated community college students advance and achieve their career potential by completing their bachelor's degree.

"I'm incredibly proud that more than 2,100 students with transfer hours earned a degree at Bellevue University during the last full academic year," said Dr. Hawkins. She said the Honor Roll recognition is shared with Bellevue University's network of community college partners across the country. "We fully support the work that community colleges are doing to build individuals and workforce-ready talent."
